Girona walking tour
Day: Tuesday 3rd of SeptemberMeeting time: 18:00h
Meeting point: At the center of Plaça Independència
We will have a guided walking tour around the old quarter of Girona, delimited by the Onyar river and the wall dating from the 14th century, and which has among its representative elements the church of Sant Feliu, the Cathedral of Girona and the old jewish quarter. The tour will finish at the reception venue.
Reception
Day: Tuesday 3rd of SeptemberTime: 19:30h (approximate, it will start after the walking tour)
Location: Auditori Josep Irla , Plaça Pompeu Fabra, 1
Visit to ruins of Empúries and conference banquet at El Molí de l'Escala
Meeting time: 16:30h. We ask for maximum punctuality since we will take scheduled buses.
Meeting point: Here, parking next to Rotonda del Pont de Pedret.
We will depart from Girona by bus and reach the Ruins of Empúries, an ancient Greek colony located at the heart of the Costa Brava, dating from the 6th century BC, which was later occupied by the Romans. We will have a guided visit followed by a wine tasting of local wines of the Alt Empordà region, one of the most important regions producing wine in Catalonia. After this, we will have the conference banquet at the nearby restaurant El Molí de l'Escala.
